A list of useful links for shops and services that we have used close to the Garden Flat.

Supermarkets
There´s a good choice near to the flat. We normally go for Bonpreu on Calle Rossello, but try Caprabo as well. Just up Balmes (on Rossello) is a corner shop called Alimentació Catalunya that is open late if you happen to run out of anything.

Por Sant
Come out of the flat and turn right, and just on the corner of Provença and Balmes is a "local" or coffee shop called Por Sant. The guy who renovated the flat, John, ate lunch here most days, so we know it well. It´s a convenient place to grab a coffee and croissant in the morning and the lunch time menu isn´t half bad either- good value too.

Best Nearby Tapas
You´ll be spoilt for choice if you like tapas. There are 2 great tapas restaurants within a short walk from the flat. Bodegueta Provença on Calle Provença or Cerveseria Catalana on Calle Mallorca. Or try Taller de Tapas which is a little further away (about the right distance to walk off the tapas). Head south on Rambla de Catalunya for about 3 blocks (or manzanas).

Hairdresser & Spa Barcelona
Essential Spa: offering hairdressing and spa treatments with Aveda products- a friendly spa/hairdressers. Ana and Daniel speak English, French and Spanish and they are 5 minutes walk from the flat. They offer traditional Thai massage, body and face treatments (massages and facials), pedicures, manicures et.

Medical Centre: Sanitas (BUPA) Balmes 111
Literally opposite the flat on Carrer Balmes is the Sanitas Milenium Centre Mèdic. Hopefully you´ll have no need to visit, but it´s very handy if you do. Sanitas is the Spanish BUPA brand

Holmes Place Health Club Balmes 44-46
Walk 2 and a half blocks down Carrer Balmes, and you´ll find a Holmes Place Health Club. Over 4000 m2 with fitness room, pool, jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bat.

Palacio del Flamenco
OK- so Flamenco is more of an Andalucian thing, but this restaurant and show is just down the road, so if you have never seen Flamenco before, it´s worth a visit
